FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Bromic heaters can be plugged into an electrical outlet and turned on using an electric switch. Please note that a licensed technician must install your Bromic heaters.
No - the controllers are purchased as an additional accessory.
All Bromic Smart-Heat™ Gas outdoor heaters come with wall mount brackets. Ceiling poles, deflectors and controllers will need to be be purchased as additional accessories.
Yes - Bromic gas heaters have an electric ignition which requires an electrical supply.
Yes - the minimum distance required from the top of the Tungsten Smart-Heat™ Portable to the ceiling is 1m/39.37”.
No - the gas heaters are either on or off, which means the heat cannot be adjusted.
If this occurs, please check clearance between the top of the heater and structure above. This must be a minimum of 350mm/13.8”, so if the clearance is less than that your heater has been installed illegally and out of installation requirements. Also please ensure the deflector has been installed correctly - if installed incorrectly, the heat will be pushed back towards the wall bracket.
If your heater repeatedly cuts power via the safety switch, please check that the Honeywell Control Pack has been replaced on the pins behind the valve. It may be that the Pack has been forced on and bent the pins. To rectify this, try removing the Pack, straightening the pins and reinstalling. It is also important to check the power cord has no heat damage.
If your heater is under-performing, please try the following:
  • Check that that hoses are not kinked/crushed
  • Check that pressures have been set correctly (1KPA – NG, 2.75 KPA – LPG)
  • Check that an external regulator is not being used. If so, remove as unit has an external regulator. Pressures will then need to be set at the internal regulator.
If your heater starts, but then turns off after a few minutes/hours, please check that the 'probes' are not too close to the tiles – they should be approximately 0.16 inches away from tiles
If your heater starts/ignites but then turns off after approximately 10 seconds please try the following:
  • Ensure that the Ionization cable is correctly connected to the Honeywell Control Pack
  • Ensure that the Ionization cable is correctly connected to the ‘probes’
  • Check that the 'probes' are not too close to the tiles – they should be approximately 0.16 inches away from tiles
  • Check that the gas pressure is correct (1KPA – NG, 2.75KPA – LPG)
If your heater is trying to ignite but there seems that no gas is present, please try the following:
  • Check that the Honeywell Control Pack has been replaced on the pins behind the valve
  • Check that the hose is not kinked or crushed

The performance of any outdoor heater can be affected by environmental factors such as wind. However Bromic heaters have the highest wind resistance of any outdoor heaters on the market and perform well at wind speeds up to 13mph, making them by far the best-in-class. While built from premium materials and engineered for longevity, we do recommend that our Smart-Heat™ gas, electric and portable outdoor heaters are best mounted undercover and not directly exposed to salt mist, rain or snow .
The selection of the correct outdoor heater for your specific needs should be based on key factors including:
  • The size of the space which you need to heat
  • The number of available mounting points
  • Access to a gas or electricity supply
  • Clearance heights to the ceiling
  • Your architecture, decor and design preference
